Stepping Into Your Power

Stepping Into Your Power

In this Women’s Wellness Surf Session, we explore what it means to step into your power through the wisdom of the ocean. Power here isn’t about force—it’s about how you meet the wave.

It’s the moment you choose to embrace what’s coming, rather than resist it.
It’s finding your power stance on your board—steady, grounded and present—even in motion.
It’s trusting that when you get knocked down, you know how to come back up.

This is power as presence.
As resilience. As surrender.
As the quiet knowing: I can meet what comes—and rise again.

Waves of Resilience

  • 1 Newport Pier Newport Beach, CA, 92663 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

In this Women’s Wellness Surf Session, we explore how resilience is built—not by avoiding fear, but by learning how to move through it and step outside our comfort zone.

The ocean offers the most honest environment to practice this. In its ecological landscape, fear may naturally arise - a hold down, getting stuck in the impact zone, seeing a towering wave rising to meet you—these are all a natural part of surfing, and if we can embrace fear over panic, slow down, breathe, and stay connected to ourselves, we can learn to trust our responses even in moments of uncertainty.

We’ll begin with mindful grounding and somatic awareness, gently exploring how fear shows up in the body and how to regulate it. Then, we take that awareness into the water for an hour of surfing or boogie boarding, where the waves become both teacher and mirror.

Surfing reminds us that falling is part of the process. We wipe out, we get held under, we lose our footing—and then we resurface. Again and again. And each time we come back up and realize we’re okay, something shifts. The body learns. The nervous system adapts. Trust begins to build.

This is how resilience forms—not all at once, but in small, powerful moments of returning to yourself.

Belonging in the Waves, The Power of Community

  • 28 Bicknell Avenue Santa Monica, CA, 90401 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

In partnership with AquaSurf in Santa Monica, this session brings together a deeply supportive, heart-centered community experience.

In this session, we explore the power of community—what it means to feel seen, supported, and like you truly belong.

The ocean is a shared space. In the lineup, we learn to move together—to read one another, to take turns, to offer encouragement, and to respect the rhythm of those around us. Like the diverse ecosystem beneath the surface, each of us enters the water with our own story, our own pace, our own way of being—and together, we learn how to coexist.

Through mindful intention and connection, we begin by grounding into the body and into the group—creating a space where you don’t have to perform or prove anything to be accepted. Then, we take that sense of shared presence into the water for an hour of surfing or boogie boarding, supported by the experienced team at AquaSurf.

There is something powerful about witnessing and being witnessed—about stepping into something new while held in the energy of others doing the same.

We close with restorative yoga and reflection on the sand, deepening connection not only to yourself, but to the women around you—leaving with a sense of sisterhood that extends beyond the shoreline.

You belong here.
Just as you are.

Regulation and Reclamation: Coming Home to Your Body

  • 1 Newport Pier Newport Beach, CA, 92663 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The ocean has a way of bringing us back to ourselves.

During this special event, we gather in community to explore the connection between nervous system regulation and body reclamation—learning how to soften out of survival mode and return to a deeper sense of safety, presence, and belonging within ourselves.

We’ll begin with a guided beach circle, where we’ll move through breathwork, grounding practices, and gentle reflection to reconnect with the body as something to listen to, trust, and come home to.

From there, we’ll enter the water for 40 minutes of surf expression (surfing, boogie boarding, etc.) - a space to feel, move, and experience the ocean in your own way.

We’ll close our ocean time with a short integration circle on the sand before transitioning to a private, lush garden sanctuary—an intimate space held at the home of yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and intuitive healer Shannon Kassoff.

Here, you’ll be guided through a private, 60-minute restorative yoga and meditation session designed to support deep rest, energetic balance, and full-body integration. Shannon’s work blends breath, stillness, and subtle energy practices to help release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect you to your inner calm.

Gratitude in Practice

Gratitude in Practice

In partnership with AquaSurf in Santa Monica, this session explores building an intentional practice in gratitude.

Just as the ocean offers endless invitations to slow down and take in the small, fleeting moments—the way light dances and sparkles across the water, the cool mist of ocean spray, the warmth of the sun as it dips below the horizon, the quiet connection of sharing space in the lineup—we begin to notice how this same awareness can carry into our everyday lives. Often, it’s in the simplest things that gratitude lives. Here, we learn to soften our attention and recognize the beauty and blessings that surround us each day.

The ocean is also a powerful teacher of presence—and perspective. Standing at the shoreline or floating beyond the break, you begin to feel it: the vastness, the movement, the living ecology all around you. Something bigger than you—and something you’re a part of.

We’ll begin our session with gentle grounding and intention-setting, tuning into the body and breath. Then, we carry that awareness into the water for an hour of surfing or boogie boarding, supported by the AquaSurf team—where even the smallest moments become invitations to notice, feel, and appreciate.

We’ll close with restorative yoga and reflection on the sand, creating space to integrate and anchor into a deeper sense of presence, connection, and enoughness.

Embodied Confidence

Embodied Confidence

In collaboration with AquaSurf, this session offers a supportive space for ways to build greater confidence.

In the ocean, each wave asks us to trust our bodies, make choices, and follow through. And with each paddle, each attempt, each small success, something begins to shift, not just in how we surf, but in how we see ourselves.

Through mindful grounding and intention-setting, we begin by connecting to the body and exploring what confidence feels like from the inside out. Then, we take that awareness into the water for an hour of surfing or boogie boarding, supported by the AquaSurf team.

Here, confidence becomes embodied in the moments we commit to the wave, in the strength of our stance, and in getting back on the board after a fall—and trusting ourselves to try again. Over time, that confidence begins to extend beyond the ocean—into how we move through life, how we take up space, and how we relate to our bodies.

Women's Holistic Surf Weekend: Self-Trust, Sovereignty and Raising our Frequency

Flow State Holistic Surf Weekends are immersive, heart-centered experiences rooted in the wild beauty of California’s Central Coast. With the beautiful surroundings at Grover Beach and Shell Beach, these weekends are designed as a return: to your body, your intuition, and the steady rhythm of the ocean.

This weekend centers on self-trust, personal sovereignty, and raising your frequency—the inner shift that happens when you begin listening to yourself again and honoring what you hear.

Just as surfers learn to read the water and trust their instincts, we’ll explore how to reconnect with our own inner knowing. Through guided reflection, grounding practices, and time in the ocean, you’ll begin to strengthen that voice within.

We’ll also explore how to gently shift our internal state. Like light dancing across the water, our energy is responsive—shaped by our breath, our thoughts, our movement, and our attention. Through simple, supportive practices—intentional breathing, embodied movement, gratitude, and presence—we’ll learn how to elevate our frequency into a space of clarity, openness, and vitality. The ocean, ready to meet us there.

The rhythm of the waves, the sensation of saltwater, and the steady cadence of paddling naturally regulate the nervous system, helping us settle, open, and rise. Throughout the weekend, you’ll be invited to notice where you are—and how small, conscious shifts can bring you back into alignment with how you want to feel.

What the Weekend Looks Like

Each Flow State weekend is intentionally spacious and intuitive—offering structure while allowing room for flow, rest, and personal rhythm.

You can expect:

  • Morning surf sessions to greet the day (Saturday + Sunday)

  • A sunset surf session on Saturday, followed by a community potluck + beach bonfire

  • Guided reflection and integration circles

  • Optional yoga and embodied movement sessions

  • Time to slow down, rest, and connect—both inward and with one another

Offerings may include (Schedule to Come):

  • A coastal hike along the cliffs of Shell Beach

  • Gentle beach movement or breathwork sessions

  • A community beach cleanup (giving back to the ocean that holds us)

Holistic Surf Weekend: Embracing Play, Art as Expression, and Releasing Comparison

Flow State Holistic Surf Weekends are immersive, heart-centered experiences rooted in the wild beauty of California’s Central Coast. Set between Grover Beach and Shell Beach, these weekends are an invitation to reconnect—not just with the ocean, but with joy, play, and the freedom of being fully yourself.

This weekend centers on embracing play, releasing comparison, and opening into creative expression.

The ocean reminds us that play is part of being alive.

Through time in the water, movement, and shared experience, we’ll reconnect with curiosity, artistic expression, and the freedom that comes from letting ourselves explore without pressure.

And just like no two waves are ever the same, no two surfers are either.

Together, we’ll gently release the habit of comparison—the quiet ways we measure ourselves against others—and return to our own rhythm. In the lineup and in life, we’ll explore what it means to take up space, to honor where we are, and to trust that our experience doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be meaningful.

Creative Expression: Learning from the Lineup

The lineup is more than a place to surf—it’s a mirror.

It reflects how we move through shared space, how we perceive ourselves, and how we relate to others. Through guided reflection and creative exploration, we’ll bring awareness to these dynamics with compassion and curiosity.

This session invites you into art as expression, not performance.

Using natural elements and simple materials—sand, shells, driftwood, watercolor, movement, or mandala creation—we’ll open space for your own unique voice to come forward. There is no right way here. No expectation. Just an invitation to create, to feel, and to be seen.

Together, we co-create a safe, supportive environment where expression can unfold—individually and collectively—deepening connection to self, to each other, and to the ocean.
